Title: Geochemical Evaluation Method for Prospecting Target around the Baishantang Copper Deposit of Beishan Area, Gansu
Abstract: Based on the stream sediment data obtained from 1:200,000 geochemical survey in Yingpan of Beishan area, this paper has tentatively discussed the feasibility of applying geochemical anomaly structure comprising positive anomalies of enriched elements and negative anomalies of depleted elements to evaluating the prospecting target. The results demonstrate that geochemical anomaly structures of the Baishantang copper deposit are formed by positive anomalies of enriched elements and negative anomalies of depleted elements. Enriched elements include metallogenic element (Cu), mineralizing accompanying elements (Zn, Au, Ag, As, Sb, Mo), and major elements (Fe2O3 , MgO), whereas depleted elements include trace elements (Ba, Sr) and major elements (Al2O3 , Na2O). Based on the tested anomaly structure as well as the results of fracture survey and debris survey, the authors evaluated geochemical anomalies in Baishantang area. It is shown that making use of geochemical anomaly structure could effectively evaluate the prospecting target.
