Title: Analysis of malaria epidemic in Hubei Province(2009-2011)
Abstract: Objective The malaria incidence of the residents in Hubei Province from 2009 to 2011 was analyzed to understand the situation of malaria epidemic.Methods Cross-sectional study method was applied.Statistical analysis was done by the software of SPSS 13.0 and Excel 2003.The data were analyzed by the following indexes: incidence,constituent ratio,distribution of malaria etc.Results There were 1 308 cases of malaria,the annual incidence was 0.03-0.12/10 000.It decreased by 45.15% per year.Among them,55 cases were vivax,100 cases,falciparum,2 cases,ovale and 1 case quartan malaria 158 cases were imported malaria.The epidemic season was from June to September,altogether 649 cases(occupying 49.62% of the annual incidence).The age group of higher incidence was from 40 to 60 years old,676cases(51.68%).Conclusions The incidence of malaria had the trend of decrease,while the number of imported malaria was increasing from 2009 to 2011,therefore,the infection source should be under control and the surveillance should be promoted.
