Title: Cloning and Expression of Drought-stress Related Gene GhTrx in Gossypium hirsutum L.
Abstract: In this research,thioredoxin gene from Gossypium hirsutum L.,named GhTrx,was initially cloned by RACE and RT-PCR techniques.The cDNA full length was 1 340 bp,and ORF is 864 bp,which encoded 288 amino acid residues.Its express condition was analyzed by real-time PCR at different organizations and different periods GhTrx had the similarity of 70%,72% and 76% to Populus trichocarpa,Ricinus communis and Arabidopsis thaliana corresponding gene,respectively.Phylogenetic analysis showed GhTrx was the closest to Ricinus communis,and real-time PCR suggested that GhTrx protein could be induced by drought tolerance.With drought stress,GhTrx showed high expression level on drought-stress materials,'Zhong H177',especially outstanding higher expression in root than in leaf.Thus,we speculate that GhTrx gene increases of its expression on drought-stress condition in root against outside drought environment.It may plays a role in improving drought resistance capacity of Gossypium hirsutum L.
