Title: Effect of different interventions on the quality of life and the rehabilitation outcome in patients with chronic schizophrenia
Abstract: Objective To explore the effect of different interventions on the quality of life and rehabilitation outcome of chronic schizophrenia.Methods A total of 180 patients with chronic schizophrenia were randomly divided into study group(90 cases) treated with drug therapy plus community intervention and control group(90 cases) treated with drug therapy for 12 months.All patients were assessed with Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale(BPRS),Generic Quality of Life Inventory-74(GQOLI-74),Insight and Treatment Attitude Questionnaire(ITAQ) at baseline and at specified time points of the 12-month study to evulate the habilitation outcome and the incidence of aggressive behavior.Results At the end of the 12-month follow up,score of BPRS in study group was significantly lower than that in control group(P0.01),factor scores of psychological health and social function of GQOLI-74 in study group was significantly higher than those in control group(P0.01),score of ITAQ in study group was significantly higher than that in control group(P0.05).Conclusion Community follow-up intervention is beneficial for patients with chronic schizophrenia in improving their quality of life and rehabilitation outcome.
