Title: Comprehensive rehabilitation on the quality of life and social skills in long-term hospitalized patients with chronic schizophrenia
Abstract: Objective To explore the effect of comprehensive rehabilitation on the quality of life and social skills of chronic schizophrenia patients.Methods 117 patients with chronic schizophrenia were randomly divided into study group and control group.The patients in study group were given comprehensive rehabilitation besides medicine treatment,while control group were only given medicine treatment.All the patients were assessed using brief psychiatric rating scale(BPRS).Generic quality of life inventory 74(GQOLI 74),the scale of social skills for psychiatric in patients(SSPI) pre and post treatment. Results After 6 months,the BPRS scores in study group was significantly lower than that in control group and baseline(P0.05 );the mental health score and social function score of GQOLI 74 in study group were significantly higher than those in control group and baseline(P0.05);the SSPI scores in study group was significantly higher than that in control group and baseline(P0.05 ).The social funetion score,mental health score in study group was superior to control group after 12 months treatment and the SSPI was superior to control group after 6~12 months treatment(P0.05 ).Conclusion Comprehensive rehabilitation can improve the quality of life and social skills in chronic schizophrenia patients.
