Title: EXPRESSION AND SIGNIFICANCE OF VASCULAR ENDOTHELIAL GROWTH FACTOR-C IN COLORECTAL CARCINOMA
Abstract: Objective:To investigate the effects of vascular endothelial growth factor-C (VEGF-C) in development of colorectal carcinoma. Methods:MaxVision immunohistochemical staining was used to observe the expressions of VEGF-C in colorectal carcinoma, adenoma and normal large intestinal mucosa. Results: From normal large intestinal mucosa, adenoma to colorectal carcinoma, the VEGF-C expression increased gradually and there had obvious differences between them (P0.05). The positive expression of VEGF-C in colorectal carcinoma had relations with depth of imbibition, lymph nodes metastasis and Duke’s stage (P0. 05).Conclusions:VEGF-C plays an important role in carcinogenesis and development of colorectal carcinoma, so it could be a prognostic factor of colorectal carcinoma.
