Title: The effect of hysterectomy on ovarian function of patients with uterine tumor
Abstract: Objective To observe impact of hysterectomy on recent ovarian function in the women who suffered from uterine tumor. Methods Before operation, one month and six months after operation sexual hormone concentrations(LH,FSH and E2)were respectively determined in 64 women with uterine tumor having been divided into total hysterectomy group and subtotal hysterectomy group. Results There was a significant difference in E2 concentrations of two groups before operation and one month after operation(P0.05),but no significant difference was found six months after operation. One month after operation, the levels of LH and FSH increased in two groups compared with those before operation, but the levels of the two hormones returned to the levels before operation at the end of six months after operation. There were no significant differences in the concentrations of LH,FSH and E2 between two groups one month and six months after operation. Conclusion Suggestion of this study is that the recent ovarian function has no apparent change after total and subtotal hysterectomy.
