Title: Analysis of Thermal and Coupled-filed Stresses of Overlay on the Old Asphalt Pavements
Abstract: In order to simulate the thermal and coupled-field stress responses of overlay on old asphalt pavements,a model under different cooling conditions is built,and then the model were analyzed by using finite element software.In the analysis process,the influence of cooling range,initial temperature,thickness of overlay were represented.And then the influence of cracks which existence in old pavement were emphatically analyzed.The results indicate that,coupled-field can decrease tensile stress but may increase shear stress.Initial temperature and cooling speed take a distinctly effect on the stress of overlay pavement.Addition of thickness can improve the stress characteristics of overlay.More attention should be pay attention to existence of cracks during the overlay design and construction.
