Title: Expression of minichromosome maintenance proteins 2 in cervical carcinoma and its significance
Abstract: Objective:To explore the expressions of minichromosome maintenance proteins 2(MCM2) in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN) and cervical carcinoma and its relationship with clinicopathological characteristics.Methods:20 samples of high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions(HSIL) tissues,40 samples of cervical squamous carcinoma tissues and 20 samples of normal cervical tissues which were confirmed by pathological examination in the hospital from 2008 to 2009 were collected,S-P immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of MCM2 in above-mentioned samples. Results:The positive expression indexes of MCM2 increased gradually from normal cervical squamous epithelium,HSIL to cervical squamous carcinoma(P0.01);the positive expression of MCM2 in cervical squamous carcinoma was correlated with differentiation grades of tumors and lymphatic metastasis(P0.01,P0.05),but there was no correlation between it and age of the patients, tumor diameter and clinical stages.Conclusion:MCM2 can reflect the proliferative degree of cervical squamous epithelium, which can be used as a new tumor marker to evaluate the grades of malignancy of cervical squamous carcinoma in clinic.
