Title: Shear bond strengths of different types of bonding systems to VITA MarkII machinable ceramics
Abstract: Objective:To evaluate the shear bond strengths of four types bonding systems to VITA MarkⅡ machin-able ceramics.Method:Ceramic slices and teeth slices were cemented with four bonding systems(Fuji PLUS,Panavia F,RelyX Unicem and Beautifil Flow cooperated with FL-BOND).Then each group was subdivided into 2 subgroups according to 50-hour immersion in water or thermocycling of 3000 cycles.Shear bond strength was determined on an universal testing machine.Debonded surface was examined with lightmicroscope.Result:It was found that there was no significant differences between Panavia F,RelyX Unicem and FL-BOND+Beautifil Flow, the values of which were higher than that of Fuji PLUS without thermocycling(P0.05).Panavia F showed the greatest bond strength after thermocycling among the four bonding systems used. Conclusion:It was concluded that Panavia F can be used to bond MarkⅡ machinable ceramics.Resin-rein-forced glass ionomer cement and light-cure flowable resin cooperated with adhesive can get good initial bond strengths too,but the persistent can not be great.
