Title: EXPRESSION AND BIOLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF p15 IN ESOPHAGUS CANCER
Abstract: ObjectiveTo investigate p15 mRNA and p15 protein expression in the esophagus cancer and the putative roles in carcinogenesis of esophagus cancer.MethodsThe expression of p15 mRNA and p15 protein was examined respectively by in suit hybridyzation(ISH) and streptavidin-horseradish peroxidase(SP) immunohistochemistry(IHC) method in 48 cases of esophageal carcinoma,18 cases of esophageal dysplasia and 10 cases of incisal margin normal tissues.ResultsThe positive expression rates of p15 mRNA and p15 protein in the esophagus cancer were(56.3 %) and(47.9 %),which were respectively lower than those in incisal margin normal tissues and adjacent dysplasia tissues(P(0.05)).There was positive correlation between the expression of p15 mRNA and p15 protein in the esophageal carcinoma tissues(χ~2=22,P(0.05)).The expression of p15 had correlation with histological difference(P(0.05)).ConclusionThe low expression of p15 might involve in esophageal carcinogenesis. There is some reference value of p15 expression to the malignancy degree of esophageal cancer.
