Title: Study on acrylic emulsion pressure-sensitive adhesive for protective film
Abstract: Acrylic emulsion pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSA) for protective film were prepared via seeded semi-continuous emulsion polymerization.Effects of the amount of the emulsifier in the bottom and the amount of polyfunctional aziridine cross-linker on the properties of emulsion PSA were discussed. The results indicated that when the amount of the emulsifier in the bottom increased the viscosity, surface tension and contact angle of the emulsion increased contrasted with the average particle size of the latex decreased.Research showed the weatherability and water resistance of the emulsion PSA were greatly improved with the increase of the cross- linker.Compared with temperature, the humidity had a greater effect on the weatherability of the emulsion PSA. The experiment results also showed the smoothness and the polarity of the protected material surface had a significant impact on the weatherability of the emulsion PSA.
