Title: EFFECTS OF TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE HSWY ON ANTI-OXIDATIVE ABILITY OF SENILE RATS
Abstract: Objective:To observe the effects of traditional Chinese medicine heshouwuyin(HSWY) on malondialdehyde(MDA) content, glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) activity, superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity and total antioxidative capacity(T-AOC) in serum of subacute senile rats.Methods:30 male SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups,10 rats in each group: normal control group, senile model group and HSWY prevention group. The subacute senile rats model was made by intraperitoneal injection of D-gal continuous. The rats in HSWY prevention group were lavaged with HSWY(0.06ml/kg) for 60 days during injection of D-gal.The MDA content,GSH-Px activity,SOD activity and T-AOC in serum of rats in each group were respectively detected. Results:Compared with rats in normal control group,MDA content increased obviously,GSH-Px activity,SOD activity and T-AOC of rats in model group decreased obviously(P0.01,P0.05).Compared with rats in model group,MDA content decreased significantly,GSH-Px activity,SOD activity and T-AOC of rats in HSWY prevention group increased significantly(P0.01).Conclusions:HSWY can inhibit declining of anti-oxidative ability of subacute senile rats,so has fairly anti-aging effects.
