Title: Approaches to Pragmatic Meaning and Compensations for Information Gap in Terms of Literary Translation
Abstract: Based on the approach of meanings of socio-semiotics,meaning can be categorized into intralingual meaning,referential meaning and pragmatic meaning.Pragmatic meaning reveals the relationship between verbal signs and their users.As the verbal sign users vary greatly in such aspects as social status,educational background,internal emotions,communicative means,etc.,pragmatic meaning is constantly considered to be a hard nut to crack in translation.The paper is intended to probe approaches to identificational meaning,social meaning,associative meaning and expressive meaning involved in pragmatic meaning in order to figure out the compensations for information gap in terms of literary translation.
