Abstract: The pragmatic failures in advertisement translation are usually caused by improper context transplantation. On the basis of fully understanding of the linguistic,situational and cultural contexts of the advertisement,the translator can effectively avoid pragmatic failures by adopting proper translation strategies.Thus,the communicative function and expected effects of the advertisement can be fully achieved.
