Title: Protective effect of allitridi on the experimental acute cerebral ischemia
Abstract: The protective effect of allitridi at different dosage(1.5, 3.0, 6.0 mg·kg1 iv 10 min before ischemia) on acute experimental cerebral ischemia was studied. Acute cerebral ischemia caused an inhibited activity of superoxide dismutase and an increased content of malondialdehyde in cortexes of mice and in cortexes and hippocampus of rats. Allitridi increased the survival time in the cerebral ischemic mice induced by ligating both common carotid arteries and both vagus nerves from 2.5±1.0 (control) to 9±14, 15±5 and 26±13 min. These results suggest that allitridi have a protective effect on the acute cerebral ischemia. The antioxygen free radical action of allitridi may contribute to its protective effect on the cerebral ischemic injury.
