Title: Copper Recovery from a Refractory and High Combination Rate Copper Oxide Ore Using a Combined Process of Beneficiation and Metallurgy
Abstract: A high combination rate copper oxide ore is processed by a combined process with beneficiation and metallurgy, which contains 1. 53% copper with an oxidation rate of 47. 06% and a combination rate of 21. 57%.Polished section identification and analysis of the ore show that most copper minerals exist in the ore with fine grain size, distribute stellately, disseminate unevenly and coexist with silicon, calcium, magnesium, aluminum and other gangue seriously, which leads to poor floatability. According to the characteristics of the ore,the effect of the process parameters and structure on indicators is studied. A 23. 43% grade of copper concentrate with a recovery of 53. 72% is obtained by a sulphidizing flotation process includingthree-stage roughing-crude concentrate regrinding-three-stage cleaning. The morphology and mineral composition of the tailings are then characterized. It is found that fine-grained copper minerals present as dissemination or being encapsulated in silicate minerals, resulting in the partly loss of copper in tailings. Under the best acid leaching process conditions, the acid leaching experiment of the flotation tailings is conducted. A leaching rate of 33. 21% is obtained relative to raw ore and the total copper recovery of the whole process is 86. 93%.
