Title: Study on Concentration of Copper from the Tailings of a Refractory Copper Ore Using Sulphidization Flotation
Abstract: The copper grade of tailings of a refractory copper ore is 0.58% and it contains many species of copper minerals with the characteristics of obvious difference in floatability, high oxidation rate, high content of alkali gangue such as calcium and magnesium and high content of slime, belonging to a slime-bearing copper oxide ore.The existence of large quantity of slime not only consumes reagents, but also makes the operation more difficult, resulting in low grade and low recovery of the copper concentrate. Therefore,on the basis of studying the ore properties, the technological flowsheet of two roughing, two scavenging and one cleaning was adopted by adding the activator HS,which effectively activated the flotation of minerals. Finally,a copper concentrate with a grad of 15.36% Cu and a recovery of 83.80% could be obtained. The index is satisfactory.
