Title: Non-phacoemulsification small incision cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantation after glaucomatous filtering surgery.
Abstract: Objective To investigate the method of catearact extraction after glaucoma filtering operation. Methods Non phacoemulsification extracapsular cataract extraction with posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation was performed on 38 eyes of 36 glaucoma patients with preexisting filtering bleb. The temporal small scleral tunnel incision was selected in the cataract surgery. The follow up period was 3 months. Results The postoperative visual acuity improved in all patients and 65 8% of eyes reached 0.5 in the first month. The postoperative IOP was 14.6±2 62 mmHg.The functional filtering bleb was no apparently cicatrization. Conclusion Glaucomatous eyes with cataract after filtering operation can rehabilitate their visual acuity and maintain the functional filtering bleb by non Phacoemulsification ECCE and intraocular lens implantation throungh a temporal small scleral tunnel incision.
