Title: Trabeculectomy combined with extracapsular cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation through small incision.
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the clinical results of trabeculectomy combined with extracapsular cataract extraction through small incision and intraocular lens implantation in management of glaucoma with cataract. Methods The surgery was performed on 22 eyes of 22 patients suffered from glaucoma with cataract.Visual acuity,IOP,filtration bleb and complications were observed after operation. Results The average follow-up period was 6 months.Postoperatively,IOP was lower than 21 mmHg in all eyes.Visual acuity was 0.2 or better in 19 eyes(86.36%).The function bleb was formed in 20 eyes(90.91%).No serious postoperative complications occurred. Conclusions Trabeculectomy combined with extracapsular cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation through small incision is effective in glaucoma with cataract treatment. Its incision is small, damage to tissues is light. There was no any serious complications. Most patients get rapid improvement in visual acuity and IOP is easy to be controlled.
