Title: Study on the Influence of Projectile Shape on Rotary Penetration Depth of Concrete Target
Abstract: To study the effect of the projectile shape on rotary penetration depth(RDP)of concrete target,LS-DYNA was used to simulate the process of projectile penetrating the target under different projectile-shapes and different velocities.Simulation results show that drilling-head shape projectile can increase RDP with low velocity, while ogive-nose shape projectile can do well with high velocity, and the drilling-head and ogive-head shape can improve penetration performance. When rotary velocity is 70kr/min and the axis velocity is 300-400 m/s,the RDP of ogive-head projectile with cutting slot is maximum.Under excellent loading conditions, the depth of the cutting slot has the larger effect on penetration depth than the slope, and the cutting slot shape that relatives to target surface has little effect on the penetration. The simulation results agree well with the experiment data.
