Title: Comparison between Intravenous Verapamil or Propafenone in Treating Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia
Abstract: Objective:To study the effects of intravenous verapamil or propafenone in paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia(PSVT).Methods:35 patients with 78 episodes of PSVT were treated with intravenous verapamil and the other 31 patients with 59 episodes of PSVT were treated with intravenous propafenone. Results:It has been shown that the termination rate of PSVT was 89.7% in verapamil group and 88.1% in propafenone group respectively. There is no difference between the two groups with regard to the effectiveness of treatment and the terminated ECG type( P 0.05).Two cases in propafenone group suffered from sinus arrest for a long time and one case suffered from Ⅲdegree OAVB,among whom two died. Conclusion:In AVNRT group verapamil is better ( P 0.05).There are serions side reactions in propafenone.
