Title: Clinical distribution and antibiotics resistance of Acinetobacter baumannii
Abstract: OBJECTIVE To understand the distribution of Acinetobacter baumannii isolates from different specimens and departments and analyze the drug resistance so as to provide basis for reasonable clinical use of antibiotics, control the emergence of drug resistant strains, and prevent the spread of A.baumannii.METHODS The ATB Expression microbial analyzer of BioMerieux of France was used to perform the bacterial identification, then the drug susceptibility testing was carried out by disk diffusion method(K-B),and the drug susceptibility testing of 288strains of A.baumannii was analyzed retrospectively.RESULTS Of totally 288strains of A.baumannii isolated,83.3% were isolated from the sputum and bronchial suction fluid,10.4%from the put and secretions. For the distribution of the strains in the departments,59.0% of the strains were isolated from the ICU,13.9% from the respiratory medicine department. The drug resistance rate of the A.baumannii strains to gentamicin was the highest(85.1%),imipenem the lowest(18.8%),cefoperazone/sulbactam 21.2%,the rest of the antibiotics tested 80.0%.CONCLUSIONS Most of the clinical isolates of A.baumanii are susceptible to cefoperazone/ sulbactam, whereas are highly resistant to other antibiotics, therefore it is necessary to strengthen the detection and monitoring and reasonably use antibiotics so as to delay the emergence of drug resistance and control the spread of drug resistant strains.
