Title: Clinical distribution and drug resistance of Acinetobacter baumannii during 2006-2010
Abstract: OBJECTIVE To investigate the distribution of Acinetobacter baumannii and the antimicrobial resistance during 2006-2010 so as to provide scientific reference for reasonable use of antimicrobial agents.METHODS By means of the automated microbial analyzer of VITEK-2 and K-B tests,a total of 1420 clinical isolates of A.baumannii were identified, the drug susceptibility testing was performed.RESULTS The isolation rate of A.baumannii was 16.0% in 2010,the isolated strains mainly distributed in the department of neurosurgery, accounting for 26.1%;the isolation rate of the specimens from the sputum was the highest(58.3%),followed by the wound secretions(25.4%);as its drug resistance rates increased year by year, the drug resistance rates to carbapenems including imipenem and meropenem reached up to 51.1% and 54.1%,respectively,presenting as pandrug-resistant.CONCLUSION The drug resistance of imipenem-resistant A.baumannii is serious,it is necessary to use broad spectrum antibiotics reasonably and carefully.
