Title: Effect of octreotide and pantoprazole in treatment of upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage in cirrhosis
Abstract: Objective To investigate the effects of octreotide and pantoprazole on the treatment of liver cirrhosis and upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage.Methods Totally 86 cases of upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage in cirrhosis were randomly divided into two groups: the combined treatment group(46 cases) and the control group(40 cases).The treatment group were treated with octreotide and pantoprazole;The control group was given octreotide.Both groups were treated for 3 consecutive days.Results The average bleeding time of treatment group and control group was(16±5) and(21±6)hours respectively;Treatment efficiency were 43% and 38%;Rates were 5% and 50%;Inefficiency were 7% and 12%;The total effective rates were 93.5% and 87.5%.Conclusions Octreotide and pantoprazole treatment of upper gastrointestinal bleeding in cirrhosis is effective.
