Title: The elderly with carotid atherosclerosis and clinical analysis of the relationship between cerebral infarction
Abstract: Objective To study the elderly carotid atherosclerosis and ischemic cerebrovascular disease. Methods 136 cases of color Doppler ultrasound detection of ischemic cerebrovascular disease in patients with carotid artery, carotid artery wall measuring IMT (intima - media thickness I), observation of plaque formation and whether or not; and check the non-ischemic cerebrovascular disease 102 cases of patients as a control group. Results 136 cases of ischemic cerebrovascular disease patients have carotid atherosclerosis, plaque formation of 123 cases of abnormal blood vessels, abnormal detection rate of 90.44%; the control group for 35 cases, abnormal detection rate of 34.31% The difference was significant (P 0.01). Carotid atherosclerotic plaque in the carotid artery the most common forks, followed by internal carotid artery segment, between left and right side but there was no significant difference (P 0.05). Conclusions Patients with ischemic stroke of carotid atherosclerosis significantly more important than non-patients with cerebrovascular disease, carotid atherosclerosis plaque instability are caused by falling incidence of cerebral infarction in one of the reasons why essential.
