Title: Spectrophotometric Determination of Trace Zinc with 2,4-Dichlorofluorone (DCl-PF)
Abstract: The analytical condition and application of DCl-PF and Zn(Ⅱ) have been studied. The experiment shows that with the presence of surface active agent Tween-20 the color reagent reacts with Zn(Ⅱ) and forms a stable 1∶4 red complex in the medium of Sodium Tetraborate -NaOH buffer solution (pH=10.0).It remains stable for 2 hours at least. The maximum absorption wavelength is at 570 nm and the apparent molar absorptivity is 7.6×10~4L·mol~(-1)·cm~(-1).Beer′s law is obeyed in the concentration range of 0~0.64 μg/mL for Zn(Ⅱ). It has been applied to the determination of trace amounts of Zn(Ⅱ) in medicine and salt without separating it. The recovery rate was 95 to 102 percent. The results were in good agreement with those obtained by atomic absorption spectrometry method.
