Title: Spectrophotometric Determination of Iron from Water with2-(2-quinolinlazo)-4,5-dimethylhydroxybenzen
Abstract: Color reaction of iron (Ⅲ) with 2-(2-quinolinlazo)-4,5-dimethylhydroxybenzen was studied. In the presence of pH 4.0, HAc-NaAc buffer solution and CTMAB medium, QADMP was reacted with iron (Ⅲ) to form a stable 2∶1 complex, with the maximum absorption at 580 nm and molar absorption of 5.02×10~4?L·mol~(-1)·cm~(-1). Beer's law was obeyed in the range of 0~10.0?μg/25?mL. The method was used in the determination of iron from water with satisfactory results.
