Title: Optimal Eccentricity Design of Higed Bearing for Curved Girder Bridge
Abstract: The coupling effect of moment and torque will occur in the curved girder bridge due to the impact of curvature.As far as the curved girder bridge with hinged bearing on single pier is concerned,many engineering problems will occur,such as separating of bearing from padding stone,shifting outwards of box girder in radial direction and torsional deflecting outwards,and etc,if the bearing or the amount of eccentricity is not properly set up.It has been found that the internal torque could be reduced effectively and the mechanical condition of torsion resisting pier could be improved for curved girder bridge,if an eccentricity pointing to the outside of the central line of shearing force in radial direction of curved girder is previously set up.Powell algorithm is adopted to compute the eccentricity of hinged bearing for curved girder bridge in this paper,and the computation results show that sound effect has been achieved.If the method could be integrated into the analysis program for the design of curved girder bridge,it will be of great significance for the design of this kind of bridge.
