Title: Content Determination of Honokiol and Magnolol in Magnolia Officinalis by High Performance Liquid Chromatography
Abstract: Objective To establish a method for content determination of honokiol and magnolol in Magnolia officinalis, simultaneously. Methods High performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) was employed.Chromatographic conditions were as follows: Aglinent C18 ODS column(4.6 mm×250 mm,5 μm) was used,MeOH-Acetonitrile-water(45∶20∶35) was used as mobile phase, the flow rate was 1.0 ml/min,detection wavelength was set at 294 nm,column temperature was at 25℃.Results There was a good linear relationship between the peak area and sampling size of honokiol within the range of 0.136 to 2.72 μg(r=0.999 8),and magnolol within the range of 0.197 to 3.94 μg(r=0.999 2),respectively.The average recoveries of honokiol and magnolol were 98.37%(RSD=1.81%)and 97.97%(RSD=2.57%),respectively.Conclusion This method can provide a basis for the quality control of Magnolia officinalis in Qianshan county,Anhui province, because of its being simple, accurate and controllable.
