Title: Correlation Between Prognosis and Dendritic Cell's Function in Peripheral Blood in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Patients
Abstract: Objective:To investigate the correlation between dendritic cell(DC)'s function in peripheral blood of elderly non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)patients and their prognosis. Methods:Thirty elderly NSCLC patients treated in our hospital were enrolled as research group,30normal elderly persons were served as control. The molecules of DC's were assayed by flow cytometry(FCM),and all patients were followed-up after the assay. At the end of follow-up,patients in research group were subdivided into survival group and death group. Results:FCM showed that MFI values of CD80,CD83,CD86,and CD1ain research group were 49.46±31.93,41.01± 12.72,116.69±13.87and 16.83±4.72,respectively,versus 95.98±50.27,49.60±14.87,118.11±25.00and 19.15±2.32in the control,respectively(P=0.000,0.035,0.035,and 0.008,respectively).While MFI values of CD80,CD83,CD86,and CD1awere 44.22±28.90,36.32±8.75,93.17±49.79,and 14.46±3.11respectively in NSCLC death group versus 54.05±34.62,45.93±14.01,98.45±52.20,and 18.90±4.98respectively in NSCLC survival group(P=0.837,0.035,0.282,0.008,respectively).Conclusion:The expression of DCs'molecules in elderly NSCLC patients were markedly lower than that in the control, which revealed the inhibition of DC's function. In the sub-group of NSCLC patients, the expression of CD80and CD86 between survival and death group were not significant(P0.05),however,the difference of CD83and CD1awere significant(P0.05and P0.01),the low expression of CD83and CD1a in elderly NSCLC patients were correlated with the disease progression and survival.
