Title: Clinical study on plasma homocysteine in patients with cerebral infarction
Abstract: Objective To explore the relationship of plasma homocysteine(Hcy) and different points between cerebral infarction and cerebral infarction were treated with vitamin B12 and folic acid before and after treatment Hcy level and its effect on prognosis. Methods Detected 206 cases of cerebral infarction and 51 patients with normal Hcy levels, and cerebral infarction in patients with neurologic deficit score(NIHSS) and the progress of patients were randomly divided into two groups, patients with non-progressive group, primary group and relapse group, lacunar infarction and cerebral thrombosis, young and old patients were observed in each group, plasma homocysteine levels,NIHSS score were observed and give vitamin B12 and folic acid treatment, treatment for 4 weeks after the retest Hcy levels and NIHSS score again. Results Cerebral infarction group and the control group, patients with progressive cerebral infarction group and in patients with non-progressive group, primary group and recurrent group, patients with lacunar infarction and cerebral thrombosis group,middle-aged and elderly patients were Hcy levels in patients group and the NIHSS score were significantly different(P0.01 or P0.05);More different type cerebral infarction group and the control group compared Hcy levels were significantly different(P0.01),folic acid and supplemented Vitamin B12 treatment, cerebral infarction group Hcy level decreased significantly,NIHSS scores were significantly lower(P0.01).Conclusions These various types of cerebral infarction was significantly increased plasma levels of Hcy,homocysteine(Hhcy) is an important related factors in the occurrence of cerebral infarction, development, recurrence, severity or prognosis of diseases;cerebral infarction patients' age increase and Hcy levels were significantly increased;Added folic acid and vitamin B12 treatment helps to decrease the level of plasma Hcy.
