Title: The CT imaging appearances of endobronchial tuberculosis
Abstract: Objective:To summarize the CT imaging appearances of endobronchial tuberculosis (EBTB) so as to make a further understanding of the disease. Methods:The CT imagings in 45 patients with pathologically-proved EBTB were retrospectively analyzed. The abnormalities of bronchi, pulmonary parenchyma, lymph nodes and pleural were observed. Results:A total of 92 bronchi wore affected, including 54 in right-bronchi and 38 in the left. 28 cases showed that two more bronchi were affected. Bronchial stricture was seen in 38 cases, the narrow degree could be compartmentalized to the mild (20 cases), the moderate (12 cases) and the specific weight( 6 cases). Secondary atelectasis (n=8) and bronchial dissemination (n=30) were observed. Obsolete pulmonary tuberculosis was present in all patients. Pleural lesion was noted in 28 cases. Mediastinal or hilar tubeerculous lymphadenitis was demonstrated in 15 cases. Conclusion:Concentric bronchial wall thickening which affects a certain segments of the bronchus is the main sign of EBTB. Pulmonary and pleural lesions are coexisted in most cases and aggrandizement of the correlative lymph nodes could be seen.
