Title: Clinical Observation of Integrated Traditional Medicine and Western Medicine in Treating Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease at Acute Exacerbation Phase
Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of modified Mahuang decoction combined with western medicine in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at acute exacerbation phase.Methods 60 patients with COPD at acute exacerbation phase were randomly divided into traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) group and the control group,30 patients in each group.Patients in the control group were received routine western medicine,while patients in TCM group were given modified Mahuang decoction orally on the basis of conventional western medicine.The effects were evaluated after 7 days treatment.Results Compared with the situation before the treatment,the lung function,blood gas analysis,and clinical scores in both groups were improved significantly after treatment (P0.05),and the above parameters in TCM group were improved more obviously (P0.05).Conclusion Modified Mahuang decoction combined with western medicine is effectively in treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at acute exacerbation phase.
