Title: Establishment of hepatic fibrosis in rat model by injecting carbon tetrachloride
Abstract: Objective To develop a new means for inducing fairly stable and reliable hepatic fibrosis model in rats for exploring the mechanism and curing hepatic fibrosis. Methods Eighty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into tow groups, the control group were given intraperitoneal injection of 2 mL/kg of Olive oil twice a week and the feeding of normal diet and water. And the model group were given intraperitoneal injection of 40% CCl4 with pig serum and the feeding of high fat,low protein diet(10%lard+2%cholesterol)mix with normal diet, also drink with alcohol.Rats were sacrificed at the end of 8 weeks.Rats' liver were observed with routine pathology technique and liver function test was measured. Results The rat mortality of the model group was 14.3%,the ALT,AST,ALP,GGT and Hyp in the model group were higher than those in the control group. And the formation rate of hepatic fibrosis was 85.7%.The control group was all survival. Conclusion The model of hepatic fibrosis were established successfully, which is useful for research.
