Title: Synthesis and Modification of Acrylic Emulsion
Abstract: Acrylate multipolymer emulsion was prepared with the technique of core-shell emulsified polymerization, and adopted the blended emulsification system formed by anionic surface active agent sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS) and non-ionic surface active agent octylphenol polyoxyethylene ether(OP-10), with potassium persulfate(K_2S_2O_8) as the evocating agent. Then, acrylic acid(AA) and hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HEMA) were added to the shell as the functional monomers, and the acrylic emulsion was modified with the activity vinyl silicone. The dosage of emulsifier, evocating agent, the temperature of polymerization and the effect of organic silicone on the emulsion properties were studied. The experimental results showed that the comprehensive properties of the emulsion were better when the ratio of SDS/OP-10 was 3/2,the rate of emulsifier was 2.5%,the evocating agent was 0.6%,the temperature of polymerization was 80℃and the rate of vinyl silicone oil was 4.0%.
