Title: Extracorporeal circulation management of infants weighing less than 10 kg with congenital heart disease
Abstract: Objective To summary the cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB) management of 92 infants less than 10 kg.Methods The clinical data, including age, sex, body weight, operation type, and CPB conditions, such as equipment, prime composition, duration of CPB,and cross-clamping time of ascending aorta were retrospectively analyzed in 92 infants weighing less than 10 kg and undergoing congenital heart diseases(CHD) operation. Results The CPB duration ranged from 16 to 223 min,and the ascending aorta clamp time was 0-108 min.All the infants were successfully weared from the machine, and 5 died after operation.Conclution High-quality devices are needed. The prime volume should be minimized to the greatest extent, reasonable priming, good myocardial protection and pulmonary preservation, espically ultrafiltration technique should be used to enhance success rate of operation.
