Title: Progress in Use of Serum Inflammatory Markers to Identify Vulnerable Plaque
Abstract: Patients with acute coronary syndromes(ACS) have high morbidity and mortality. The presence of vulnerable plaque in the coronary artery is the primary pathological basis of ACS,and its rupture is the initiating factor in ACS.Existing methods of examination can only be used during,or after, acute coronary events.Current methods do not allow for early diagnosis. So it is of important clinical significance to detect vulnerable plaques early, and subsequently take appropriate action in order to decrease the of morbidity and mortality in patients with the possibility of ACS.This article reviews new developments in using serum inflammation biomarkers to identify vulnerable plaque.
