Title: Correlation of E-cadherin and three indexes expressions with clinicopathological features of breast cancer
Abstract: Objective To investigate the correlation of the expression of E-cadherin and negative expressions of estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor and human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 with the clinicopathological features of breast cancer. Methods The expressions of estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor, human epidermal growth factor receptor-2and E-cadherin were detected by using immunohistochemical method in 280cases of invasive breast carcinoma. The correlation of the expression of E-cadherin and the negative expressions of these three indexes with the different clinicopathological features of breast cancer was analyzed. Results In these 280patients,32suffered from triple negative breast cancer(TNPC)and 248suffered from non-TNBC.The rates of tumor diameter larger than 2cm,the pathological stage ofⅡ and Ⅲ degree,lymph-vascular invasion, and the negative expression of E-cadherin were 75.0%,68.7%,46.9%and 71.9%in TNBC patients, significantly higher than those in non-TNBC patients(51.2%,46.0%,21.0% and 33.5%),which showed significant differences(P0.05).The rate of the negative expression of E-cadherin was 46.1%in patients with lymph node metastasis, obviously higher than that in those without lymph node metastasis(29.5%),showing a significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion The expression of E-cadherin and the negative expressions of estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor and human epidermal growth factor receptor-2are correlated with the clinicopathological features of breast cancer.
