Title: Microstructure Characteristics and Its Effects on Corrosion of 12%Cr Ferritic Stainless Steel Plate
Abstract: The microstructure,inter-crystal corrosion characteristics and corrosion characteristics in the medium of 6%FeCl3 acid corrosion of hot-rolled sheet of 410S and 409L ferritic stainless steel were researched. The results are as follow: a significant layered corrosion phenomenon is in the media of 6%FeCl3 acid corrosion of 410S,but uniform corrosion in the 409L.There is obvious tendency of intergranular corrosion in 0.5 mol/L H2SO4 + 0.01 mol/L KSCN solution in 410S,but not in 409L.The analysis shows that the corrosion characteristics of testing steel 410S are induced by the dual-phase microstructure, while the corrosion characteristics of 409L ferritic stainless steel is due to the decrease of carbide precipitates when adding Ti element.
