Title: Expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen and Ki-67 in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and hepatolithiasis tissue
Abstract: Objective To study the expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA)and Ki-67in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and hepatolithiasis tissues, and to explore the relationship between hepatolithiasis and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. Methods The expressions of PCNA and Ki-67 were examined by immunohistochemistry in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma tissues(n =25),hepatolithiasis tissue(n =20)and normal intrahepatic bile duct tissue(n =30).Results The expression rates of PCNA in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma tissue, hepatolithiasis tissue and normal intrahepatic bile duct tissue were 96.0%(24/25),65.0%(13/20)and 6.7%(2/30),respectively,the difference were significant(P 0.05).The expression rates of Ki-67 were 68.0%(17/25),35.0%(7/20)and 3.3%(1/30),respectively,there were statistic significance(P 0.05).The PCNA expression rates in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma well-moderately and poorly differentiated were not significant(P 0.05),however there were statistical significance in the Ki-67expression rates(P 0.05).PCNA and Ki-67expression were not correlated in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and hepatolithiasis tissues(P 0.05).Conclusion PCNA and Ki-67expression rates were increased gradually in normal intrahepatic bile duct tissue, hepatolithiasis tissue and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma tissue, which suggested that hepatolithiasis may be the cause of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.PCNA and Ki-67expressions in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and hepatolithiasis tissue were not closely related.
