Title: Treatment of Chronic Hepatitis C with Kurorinone Injection in Combination with Interferon α
Abstract: Objective:To investigate the effect of Kurorinone injection with interferon α in the treatment of chronic hepatitis C. Methods:72 patients with chronic hepatitis C(CHC) were randomly divided into two equal groups. Patients of the treatment group were given each 0.6 of Kurorinone injection, I.Vggt.q.d. and 3MU of interferon α (IFN-α). I.M.while those of the control group were given each 3MU of IFN-α alone. The course of treatment in both groups lasted 6 months. Changes in liver function, serum levels of HCV and indices of hepatic fibrosis before and after the treatment were kept under observation. Results:Liver funtion of patients in both groups was found to improve dramatically.Indices of hepatic fibrosis including serum concentrations of hyalurorhic acid(HA), procollagen type Ⅲ (PⅢP), collagen type Ⅳ(CⅣ) and laminin(LN) were markedly lowerd. The differences were significant in both groups when compared with those parameters before the treatment(P0.01). The rates of serum turning negative for HCV RNA were 58.3% and 33.3% in the treatment group and control group, respectively(P0.05). Serum levels of HA and CⅣ Were lower in the treat ment group than in the control group (P0.05) after the treatment. Conclusion: Kurorinone injection combined with IFN-α was found to improve liver function, exert synergistic antiviral effect and promote the process of antifibrosis in the treatment of chronic hepatitis C.
