Title: Reconstruction of "Beauty in Sound" in Poetry Translation——The Intertextuality Approach
Abstract: The theory of intertextuality holds that no literary texts are isolated, rather they are nodes in the literary and historic tradition.Tempered by thousands of years, the poetic language is concise, the meters are precise, and the antithesis is neatly formed.Poems are full of intertextual signals. The traditional research on intertextuality was confined to the interpretation of meaning. But actually, all of the following aspects stretching from phoneme to discourse as well as collective unconsciousness formed by culture are stamped by the brand of intertextuality. The present paper creatively introduces intertextuality to the beauty in in poetry translation. The issue will be concentrated on from three aspects, namely sound symbolism, rhyme type and rhyme-scheme.
