Title: Clinical study of inhalation of oxygen-driven nebulized budesonide in the treatment of acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Abstract: Objective To investigate the effects of inhalation of oxygen-driven nebulized budesonide in the treatment of acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.Method 122 patients with acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease were selected and divided into two groups, inhalation of oxygen-driven nebulized budesonide treatment group(n=61) and oral budesonide treatment group(n=61).After the treatment we compared the clincal data of the two groups. Results There was no significant different in the FEV1,FEV1/FVC,PCO2 and PO2 between the two groups before the treatment(P0.05).However,there was significant different in the FEV1,FEV1/FVC,PCO2 and PO2 between the two groups after 1d,3d and 7d(P0.05).Meanwhile,There was significant different in the 6min walking distance, dyspnea grade score, quality of life score and length of hospital stay between the two groups(P0.05).But,there was no significant different in the level of blood glucose between before treatment and after treatment in the oxygen-driven nebulized budesonide treatment group(P0.05),but not in the oral budesonide treatment group(P0.05).Conclusion This study indicates that inhalation of oxygen-driven nebulized budesonide significantly improve airflow obstruction and clinical symptom in patients with acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease compared with oral budesonide treatment, and less increases the level of blood glucose.
