Title: Protective effect of danshen injection on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats
Abstract: Objective To observe the impact of danshen injection on ischemia-reperfusion injury of middle cerebral artery induced by nylon thread embolism method in rats.Methods The cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury model of rat was established by nylon thread embolism of middle cerebral artery.Fifty SD rats of established model were randomly divided into five groups (n=10 each):model group,nimotop group,large-,middle- and small-dose danshen injection groups,and 10 rats of sham operation were served as control group.The effects of danshen injection on the behavior,rate of cerebral infarction,cerebral water content,cerebral index,the contents of serum malonaldehyde (MAD) and superoxide dismutase (SOD)in rats with ischemia-reperfusion injury were observed.Results Compared with model group,the behavior score was higher,and the rate of cerebral infarction,the cerebral water content and the content of serum MDA were all lower,while the content of SOD was higher in middle and large-dose danshen injection groups(P0.05 or P0.01).Aforementioned effects were similar with nimotop group.Conclusions Danshen injection has a protective effect against ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats.
