Title: Adsorption Performance of Attapulgite Modified by Cetyl Trimethyl Ammonium Bromide for Cupric Ion
Abstract: Primarily purified attapulgite clay was modified with cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide(CTAB) under ultrasonic irradiation so as to improve the adsorption performance for cupric ion(Cu~(2+).The adsorption condition was optimized with single factor test and orthogonal test, and the adsorption model was analyzed as well. Results indicated that the optimal adsorption capacity was acquired at a pH value of 5,a temperature of 20℃,a modified attapulgite clay dosage of 0.8 g,and an oscillation time of 2.0 h.Under the optimal adsorption condition,Cu2+ could be adsorbed at a rate of 99.28%.Besides,the adsorption of Cu~(2+) by the modified attapulgite clay could be well described with the Freundlich equation.
