Title: THE ADSORPTION OF MODIFIED RECTORITE FOR PHENOL FROM WATER I. Confirmation of Adsorptive Conditions
Abstract: The natural rectorite (REC) was modified with dodecyl benzyl dimethyl ammonium chloride (1227), hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (1631) and octadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (1831), respectively. Then we obtained three kinds of organic-modified rectorite: 1227-REC, 1631-REC, 1831-REC which were used as adsorbents for phenol from water. In the study, the effect of the pH value, the time of adsorption, the amount of adsorbent and the temperature on the adsorption efficiency was tested. The results demonstrated that, in the present study, three kinds of adsorptive action can carry out spontaneously, but the most proper adsorption conditions—the pH values were 6,8 and 8 respectively, the time 90min, 20min, 40min, the amount of adsorbents was equal, namely 20g/L, and the efficiency of phenol purified from water were 66.2%, 99.0% and 99.8%, respectively.
