Title: The clinical and coronary angiographic analysis of patients with coronary heart disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus
Abstract: Objective To study the clinical characters and coronary artery disease features in type 2 diabetes mellitus(DM) patients with coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods All of 419 CHD patients including 161 cases complicated type 2 DM and 258 cases without DM were performed angiographies in coronary arteries. Then the clinical characters and coronary angiographic features were analyzed and compared between two groups. Results The incidence of hypertension and the levels of fasting blood glucose(FBG) were significantly higher in the DM group than those in the non-DM group(P0.05).Total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) had no differences between two groups (P0.05).There was significant decrease in ejection fraction(EF) value in DM group compared with that in non-DM group.Gensini scores and extension scores had significant increase in DM group as compared with that in non-DM group. There was significant higher incidence of single vascular lesion in non-DM group, however, more triple vascular lesions were in DM group. Conclusion Compared with non-DM patients, the DM patients have more severe and extensive coronary lesions. The effect of DM on the heart function must be evaluated comprehensively and systematically.
