Title: Investigation on Angle-closure Glaucoma Treatment with Phacoemulsification
Abstract: Objective To investigate the clinical effects of two operation methods on primary angle-closure glaucoma treatment. Methods Totally 46 cases (52 eyes) with primary angle-closure glaucoma combined with cataract were examined and analyzed. Group A: 26 cases(30eyes) with anterior chamber angle adhesion1/2 received cataract phacoemulsification and posterior chamber lens implantation; Group B: 20 cases(22 eyes) with anterior chamber angle adhesion1/2 received cataract phacoemulsification and posterior chamber lens implantation plus trabeculectomy. Results After interviewed with a follow up time of 6 months to 24 months postoperatively, all patients got visual acuity improvement with different degrees, and got deeper anterior chamber depth, more widen chamber angle, and better intraocular pressure control. Conclusion Cataract phacoemulsification on angle-closure glaucoma treatment showed satisfactory outcomes, and the two operation methods showed equivalent effects.
