Title: Clinical study on the treatment of angle-closure glaucoma with cataract by simply phacoemulsification
Abstract: Objective To investigate the treatment methods and the clinical effects of acute angle-closure glaucoma with cataract. Methods Simply phacoemulsification with posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation was performed on 36 eyes (32 cases) with acute angle-closure glaucoma with cataract, including 4 eyes (11.11%) with preclinical stage,5 eyes (13.89%) with premonitory stage,27 eyes (75.00%) with acute attack stage. The average follow-up was 8.15±4.23 months (range 6-12 months). Results Visual acuity improved in all cases. Post-operative best corrected visual acuity was 0.4-0. 8 in 14 eyes (38.89%),≥1.0 in 19 eyes (52.78%). The postoperative intraocular pressure was 10.48-16.48 mmHg(1 mmHg=0.133 kPa). No serious complications were found. Conclusion Simply phacoemulsification with posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation can be a good surgical method in treating angle-closure glaucoma with cataract.
